She was predeceased by: her brothers, Neil Kaup and Gary Kaup; and her brothers-in-law, Dean Smith and Harlan Frese. She is survived by: her children, Tim Rutan of Kearney, Nebraska and Shelly Stubbs (Collin) of Luana, Iowa; her grandchild Aleesha Babl (Jeff); her children, Logan Rutan, Cody Rutan (Amanda), Chase Stubbs and Ethan Stubbs; her great grandchildren, Blakely and Emersen Babl; her grandchildren, Bronson, Kellin, Joelle Rutan and Adonis Lurssen; her siblings, Donn Kaup (Cindy), Bruce Kaup (Carla), Joyce Smith, Lynn Frese, Myrl Rezac and Julie McDonald (Dick); and her sister-in-law Tammy Kaup. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A memorial has been established in Rita's honor and is kindly suggested to the family for a later designation.
