He was predeceased by: his parents, Carlyle Stender and Nellie Stender (Hardin); his wife Kathleen Marie Widel; and his brother-in-law Barry Watters. He is survived by: his children, Steven, Steve Stender (Kathy) of Washington, IA, John Stender (Jennifer) of Baldwin, IA and Dianna Dunlavey (Jeremy) of Ankeny, IA; his grandchildren, Ty (Kayleigh Koch), Derek, Curtis Stender, Sydney (Bailey Hadacek), Lane Stender, Makenna, Emma and Michael Dunlavey; and his sister Karen Watters of Baldwin, IA.
