She was predeceased by: her parents, Merle Ruka and Marguerite Ruka of Belmond, Iowa.; her husband Richard E. Beukema; her parents-in-law, Richard J. and Ellen Beukema of Mitchellville; and her uncle Donald Johnson of Britt.

She is survived by: her sons, Dean Beukema (Lisa) of Guthrie Center and Todd Beukema (Dawn) of Bondurant; her grandchildren, Amber Beukema, Nicholas Beukema (Samantha), Josie Beukema, Lane Neitz, Madison Kinter (Sam), Valerie Beukema, Brett Beukema and Jill Beukema; her great grandchildren, Dakota Beukema, Payton Petheram, Ava Beukema, Thea Semmens and Vinley Kinter; her siblings, Gary Ruka (Sheila) of Belmond, Lynn Ruka (Lorraine) of Tucson, Harry Beukema (Leticia) of Mitchellville, Tom Beukema (Karen) of Mitchellville, Dale Beukema (Sally) of Bondurant, Pat Rouse (Frank) of Kalona and Nancy Beukema of Mitchellville; and her aunts, Florence Johnson of Britt and Beryl Friedow of Kanawha.
