He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Angelo and Dorothy Rinella (Chiaramonte); his former wife Suzanne Martini; his brothers-in-law, John Martinez, Larry Kirby and Dennis Axtell; and his grandson Justin Schuette.
He is survived by: his wife Gerry Sue Rinella; and his children, Michael, Anthony Rinella, Catherine Wertelka (Bruce), Jeffrey Siebert (Stephanie), Michelle Mefferd (Gary), Julie Wild (Steve), Rebecca Baber (Doane) and Kristin Leon (Martin). He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 16th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church (215 N 7th St, Missouri Valley, IA 51555). A prayer was held on Sunday, March 16th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Monday, March 17th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
A second campaign with the assistance of the KC and Ministerial Association and all area churches necessitated collecting and counting $150, 000 in Family Fare grocery receipts donated by MV local residents which earned another special needs wheelchair donation.
