He is survived by: his mother Linda Nadean Gute (Elwood) of Council Bluffs, IA.; his wife Lisa Vavra of Modale, IA; his children, Kori Schulenberg (Drew) of Lincoln, NE and Harrison Gute of Omaha, NE; his mother-in-law Evelyn Vavra of Lyons, NE; his siblings-in-law, Penny Seeman (Jim) of Flower Mound, TX, April McNatt (Kirk) of Scottsdale, AZ, Heidi Speer (Troy) of Elkhorn, NE and Shawn Vavra (Carrie) of Fremont, NE; and also, Amy Salas (Danny) of St. Michael, MN, Janet Shearer (Travis) of Mondamin, IA, Jeffery Gute of Mondamin, IA, David Gute (Jodi) of Carson, IA and Scott Gute (Emilee) of Elkhorn, NE.. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hennessey Funeral Home (310 E Huron St, Missouri Valley, IA 51555). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
