He was predeceased by: his parents, James Mentzer and Gertrude Mentzer; and his siblings, Bud Mentzer, Charles Mentzer, James Mentzer, Robert Mentzer, Evelyn Hart, Dorthy John and Gertrude Nichols.
He is survived by: his son Scott Joesph Mentzer (Tracey); his wife Marilyn; his daughter Mari Jo Mentzer-Doyle (Brad); his grandchildren, Kayla Friehe (Sam), Arthur Wisecup, Caitlyn Crom (Brandon), Morgan Cohrs (Drake) and Delaney Mentzer; his great grandchildren, Brantley, Connor, Landon Friehe and Kalia Cohrs; and his sister Esther Nichols.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hennessey Funeral Home (310 E Huron St, Missouri Valley, IA 51555). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
