He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Hoffman and Mary Hoffman (Childers); and his siblings, William, Ivan, Mary Frances Freize and Viola Bradley.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Hoffman of Missouri Valley; his children, Daniel (Susan) of Missouri Valley, Andrew (Debbie) of Savannah, Steven (Rollene) of East Moline, Peggy Holford (Patrick) of Council Bluffs and Marsha Barry of Missouri Valley; and his sister Wanda Gwennap of Council Bluffs. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and a great great grandson.
