He was predeceased by: his parents, John Geerdes and Lucinda Geerdes; his foster son Troy Hatfield; his siblings, Billy, David, Tom Geerdes and June Wood; and his siblings-in-law, Herb Hodgson, Ken Wood, Ken Brownell, Wilbert Hollander, Clarence Hector, Christine Geerdes, Eleanor Hector and LaVonne Hollander.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Meyn; his children, Randal, Steven and Carla; his sisters, Grace Hodgson, Lila Brownell, Cindy (Larry) and Barker of Hohenwald, TN; and his sister-in-law Gail Geerdes Richardson (Nevada). He is also survived by nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
