He is survived by: his wife Ruth Ann Mefford (Wulf); his sons, Daniel Mefford (Amy) and Stephen Mefford (Claudia); his daughter-in-law Kathy Mefford; his grandchildren, Kelly Mefford, Paul Mefford (Caitlin), Kristy Griffith (Wes), Samantha Mefford (Ryan), Joe Mefford, Amanda Cliffe (Mike), Melissa Manzer (Pat), Audrey Hawley (Erwin), Leyanna Mefford and Aris Mefford; his siblings, Judy Skrivan, Linda Huttman (Dennis) and Jack Mefford (Donna); and his brother-in-law Marlin Schuttler. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
