With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sonny Lafayette Deaton of Mingo, Iowa, who passed away on April 30, 2023 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Delbert O. Deaton and Phoebe May Deaton (Boucher); his daughters, Tamara Deaton of Clive, Tara Wirth (Jeff) of Story City and Traci Imlau (Ken) of Ames; his grandchildren, Logan Wirth, Rachel (Nick) and Thorson (Wirth); his sisters-in-law, Lynn Anderson of Ames, Linda Sue O'Donnell (Dave) of Colo, Bertha Deaton of Newton and Linda Deaton; his half-siblings, Tim Deaton (Wanda) of Newton, Debbie McNeely of Altoona, Pam Czerwiec (Michael) of Orlando, FL and Brenda Hansen (Mike) of Newton; and his siblings, David, Ron (John Deaton), Betty Westburg and Kathy (LaVerne Deaton). He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
