He is survived by: his caregiver Sandy; his children, Stacey Carnell (Kris) of Ponca, NE, Tammy Koopmans (Michael) of Hinton, IA and Ryan Vondrak (Alison) of Sioux City, IA; his grandchildren, Brady Carnell, Caden, Kylie Koopmans, Addeline, Nevaeh, Wyatt Vondrak, Avery and Jalee Jacobson; his siblings, Bob Vondrak (Lucille), Tony Vondrak (Kris), Donna Dirks (Darwin), Edie Prewitt (Doug), Jane McDougall, Julie Juelfs (DeWayne) and Roxanne Wagner (Merlin); his brother-in-law Garry Goebel (Carolyn); his mother-in-law Mary Jane Schindel; and his sister-in-law Brenda Ashmore (Richard).
