She was predeceased by: her parents, William Schneider and Catherine Schneider (Easton); her parents-in-law, Ralph and Ruby Berner; her husband Herschel Berner; her son-in-law Ken Schlichte; her great grandchild Kyndall Petty; her siblings, Milton Schneider (Dorothy), Donna Andresen Hegi and Marilyn Burris (Claude); and her brothers-in-law, Darwin Johnson and Eli Andresen.
She is survived by: her children, Dr. Terry Berner (Karen) of Goodyear, AZ and Cindy Berner-Schlichte of Merrill, IA; her grandchild Kari Gengler (Curt) of Merrill, IA; her great grandchildren, Keegan and Kenley; her grandchild Kylie Petty (Tyler) of Merrill, IA; her great grandchildren, Kenton and Kaisley; her grandchild Hilary Paulson (Tyler) of Loveland, CO; her great grandchild Emme Mae Paulson; her grandchild Haley Berner of Phoenix, AZ; her sister Darlene Johnson of Akron, IA; and her friend Darrell Peters of Akron, IA. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 5:00 p. m. to 7:00 p. m. at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars, the family will be present from 6:00 p. m. to 7:00 p. m. Social distancing and wearing a mask will be required.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in her name to Merrill United Methodist Church.
