He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Nelson and Lucille Nelson (Johnson). He is survived by: his wife Sharon Skaggs of Meriden, Iowa; his children, Scott Nelson (Anita) of Omaha, Doug Nelson (Kalli) of Port Charlotte and Brenda Nelson Stadheim of Woodbury, Minnesota; his grandchildren, Callista, Zacary, Indigo, Tristin, Marlin, Izabella and Derick; and his siblings, Klarice Anderson (David) of Vancouver, Kathryn Kirkpatrick (Kerry) of Ankeny and Richard Nelson of Meriden, Iowa. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
