He is survived by: his former wife Rebecca Lea Holtz; his children, Carrie Paplow (James) and Michael Roede (Taylor); his grandchild Cael of Hartley, IA; his close friend Jamaica Harper of Sibley, IA; his sisters, Sharlene Duis of Ocheyedan, IA, Beatrice Platt (Don) of Sibley, IA, Rose Roede of Spring, TX, Kay Jansen of Sibley, IA and Marlene Roede (Barry); and also, Shawn Harper of Bloomington, MN and Maggie Fertal (Kevin) of Boise, ID. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
