He was predeceased by: his parents, James McDowell and Irene McDowell (Thompson); his children, Paula Marie and Dean Edward; his wives, Mary Pauline and Deanie Walsh; and his siblings, Floyd, Ronald, Larry and Clara.
He is survived by: his brother Bill McDowell (Dolores) of Cottage Grove, Minnesota.; and his grandchildren, Nycole Wood (Justin) and Michael Devore. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
