He was predeceased by: his parents, Fabian Ripperger and Laureen Hoch; his stepmother Millie Ripperger (Jensen); his siblings, Everett Ripperger and Joyce Fortune; and his brothers-in-law, Jerry Fortune and John Harty.

He is survived by: his wife Judy Verwers; his sister Kris; his children, Kris McCauley (Mike), Shane Ripperger (Stephanie), Bryce Ripperger and Brett Ripperger; his grandchildren, Sam, Sydney, Max (McCauley), Rachel, Emma and Wyatt (Ripperger); his stepgrandchildren, Clint Wetterling (Jordyn), Clay Wetterling (Mady Riebhoff), Chase Wetterling and Addison Wadle; and his siblings, Yvonne Dhabalt (Leonard), Daryl Ripperger (Leona), Judy Westendorf (George), Elaine Harty, Ivan Ripperger (Michele) and Brian Ripperger (Geri).

Memorials may be made to the Melcher-Dallas Little League, the Dallcher American Legion Post 632, or the Melcher-Dallas Fire & Rescue.
