She was predeceased by: her parents, John P. Griffin and Johannah Smith Griffin; her husband Russell Nelson; and her siblings, John Robert Griffin and Mary Ellen Griffin.
She is survived by: her children, Dennis Nelson, Cynthia Smith, Jeffrey Nelson (Linda) and Suella Thornton; her grandchildren, Toni Smith, Chad Nelson (Lisa), Traci Nelson-Johnson (Tyler), Judd Nelson (Angela) and Tara Thornton; her stepgrandchildren, Tracey Zirbel and Kristin Tompkins (Rob); and her brother Joseph Vincent Griffin (Lena Mae). She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
