It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rosel Smith of Mediapolis, Iowa, who passed away on November 15, 2021, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Kilian Willibald and Theresia Schrodt Kohl; her former husband John J. McCandless; her husband Kenneth Smith; and her daughter-in-law Gayle McCandless.
She is survived by: her children, John McCandless and Marika Nunnikoven (Steve); and her grandchildren, John (Myla), Mic, Cora (Steve), Heather (Sadrac) and Rachel (Aaron). She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
