She was predeceased by: her parents, Chester Douglas and Grace L. Hammans Douglas; and her former husband Peter Hinkle, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Dianna Klaus (Steve) of Danville and Peter Hinkle III (Cathy) of Lockridge. She is also survived by five grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established to feed the birds at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House.
