He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Tenley and Mildred Tenley (Horne); his wife Leora Mae Wagner; his grandson Brady Tenley; and his siblings, Dean Tenley, Roger Tenley, Steven Tenley, Martha Becker and Della Tenley.
He is survived by: his children, Cathy Boesenberg (Larry) of Brooklyn, Pamela St (Mike), Dennis Tenley (Debra) of Stanwood and Brian Tenley (Nicole) of Olin, Iowa; and his siblings, Joyce Wagner of Stanwood, Mary Clark (James) of Tipton, Linda Walshire of Kansas, Wanda Farrington (Gordon) of Mechanicsville, Iowa, John Tenley (Karen) of Stanwood and Dale Tenley (Donna) of Toronto, Iowa.. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
