He was predeceased by: his parents, Mathias Edward and Esther Marie Sauer (Baker); and his wife Kathleen Kiehl. He is survived by: his children, Debra Freeman (Mike), Jane Peters (Lee) and John "Jack" Sauer (Ann); his grandchildren, Jennifer Hubler (Nate), Adam Sauer (Brianna), Steven Sauer (Lacey), Johnathan Freeman and Matthew Freeman; his great grandchildren, Sarah, Rachel Hubler, Morgan, Adison Sauer, Charlie and Kiehl Sauer; and his sister Geraldine McGarry.
