He was predeceased by: his parents, Linford Bentien and Thelma Bentien (Henderson); his parents-in-law, Irene and Harvey Kuthe; his sisters, Betty (Fritz Funk), Ramona (Leo Christofferson) and JoAnn (Charles Benesh); and his siblings-in-law, Darlene and Keith Kishman.
He is survived by: his wife Imogene Kuthe of Monona, Iowa; his children, Mike Bentien (Wendy) of Monona, Shelby Hass (Steve) of Monona and Kevin Bentien (Vicki) of Postville, Iowa; and his grandchildren, Heidi Pierce, Michelle Hyman, Sharon Harms, Shane Hass, Shanell Freeseman (Brian), Derek Bentien (Tarah), Andy Bentien (Shannon) and Lindsey Carey (Shawn).
