It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Alitz Jr. of McCallsburg, Iowa, born in Winona, Minnesota, who passed away on March 5, 2023, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Sr. Alitz and Eleanor Amelda Alitz; his wife Beverly Risdal; his daughter Dawn Alitz; and his stepson Doug Elliot.
He is survived by: his children, Shadow Alitz, Ed Alitz and Shawn Alitz; his stepchildren, Butch Elliott (Mary) of Boone, IA, Lori Gross (Rex) of Madrid, IA, Jeanne Vellinga (Dan) of Marshalltown, IA, Kim Jacobson (Kevin) of McCallsburg, IA and Lisa Griffith of Dallas, GA; his grandchildren, Dakota, Cisco, Tangee, Anthony, Dillon, Anissa and McKenzie; his stepgrandchildren, Heidi Garrett (Travis), Haley Elliott, Caleb Elliott, Jami Gross-Toalson (Jason), Gavin Gross, Tyler Jacobson (Libby), Shane Jacobson (Kelsey), Seth Griffith, Stephen Wildt (Amelia), Erica Wildt, Justin Elliott (Becca), Nikki Ely (Aaron), Brittany Shuey (Brandon) and Nicole Ostby (Erik); and his sister Carolyn Goetzman of Wheatland, WY.
