He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Hooyer and Florence Hooyer (Van Donge); his parents-in-law, Cornie and Dorothy Vander Stelt; his niece Dawn Paulsen; and his nephew Kent Brink.

He is survived by: his wife Marla Hooyer; his children, Brian and Heidi Hooyer (Franken); his grandchildren, Kennady, Chayce (Abby Dahl) and Kole; his children, Sheryl and Josh Weber; his grandchildren, Tayler, Emma and Paige; his children, Brent and Kelli Hooyer (Langstraat); his grandchildren, Karter, Brody and Destiny; his siblings, Bruce (Phyllis Hooyer), Helen (Bill Vanden Top), Anita (Glen Van Bruggen), Allen (Bev Hooyer), Marv Hooyer and Joel (Irene Hooyer); and his sisters-in-law, Crystal (Wayne Brink) and Gloria (Henry Paulsen). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
