He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Richard Fredrick and Betty Jo Andersen (James); his wife Carla Jean Goldsmith of Andersen's Valley View Resort; his children, Tracy Reineke (Mark), Richard F. Andersen and Jennifer Stultz (Josh); his grandchildren, Brianna, Madeline Reineke, Zoey Andersen, Jeremiah, Jovie Stultz, Katrina Shotswell, Thomas Andersen and Serina Mailes; and his sister Mildred Beck (Gary).

Visitation was held on Thursday, June 27th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel (6200 Morningside Ave, Sioux City, IA 51106). A prayer was held on Thursday, June 27th 2024 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Friday, June 28th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
