He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Rolland Spencer and Phyllis Spencer (Price); his former life partner Mary Bitner; his significant other Kevin Statema; his daughters, Kellie Spencer (Bryon Hines), Jane Spencer and Jill Craig; his stepmother Sophia Fredricks (Joe Payton); his siblings, Cheryl Boeckman (Paul), Christine Hardin (Wayne), Lance Spencer (Ophelia), Dean Spencer (Michelle) and Rachel Fedkenheuer (Derek); and his grandchildren, Brandon Long (Carly), Brian Long (Kayci), David Gifford, Lane Spencer (Annastasia), Kolby Spencer (Isabella) and Quinten Brist.

A memorial service was held on Friday, July 5th 2024 at 9:00 AM at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City (4125 Orleans Ave, Sioux City, IA 51106).
