He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Dekker and Alyda Dekker; his brother Earle; and his son-in-law Tim Altena. He is survived by: his wife Jo; his children, Brian Dekker (Chris) of Sioux City, IA and Sherri Boone (Mike) of Spirit Lake, IA.; his grandchildren, Ashaley, Jessica, Brittany, Rick, Casey, Cody and Amber; his siblings, Dennis Dekker (Elaine) of Sioux Center, IA and Lila Kosters of Orange City, IA; and his sister-in-law Delores Dekker of Sheldon, IA. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
