She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Devine and Helen Devine (Cullen); her parents-in-law, George and Velma Hosfelt; and her sister Marian Devine.
She is survived by: her children, Brenda Hosfelt of La Vista, Michael Hosfelt (Mary) of Massena, Christina Carothers (Alan) of Lincoln and William Hosfelt (Angela) of Greenfield, Iowa.; her sister Donna Martin (Ron) of Greenfield, Iowa.; her grandchildren, William Erickson (Tara), Spenser Erickson (Anna), Catherine Miles (Gabe), Sarah Carothers, Mallory Houdek (Brandon), Alicia Hosfelt, Keagan Hosfelt (Stephanie), Nate Hosfelt, Nicholas Williams and Shawna Williams; and her great grandchildren, Kaleb and Kameron Erickson.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church (503 Main St, Massena, IA 50853). A rosary was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 4:30 PM to 4:45 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
Memorials: Memorials may be directed to the Shirley Hosfelt Memorial Fund to be established by the family at a later date.
