He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert E. Groves and Leona Groves (Jarvis); his nephew Randy Groves; and his parents-in-law, Maurice and Doris Kemp.

He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Ann Kemp; his brother Bobby Dale Groves (Charlotte); his brother-in-law Scott Kemp (Laurie); and his great grandchildren, Mitchel Groves (Karen), Dayla and Toven Casey Groves Navine (Natalie). He is also survived by 4 children, 18 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

Memorials: May be directed to the Richard Groves Memorial Fund to be established by the family at a later date.
