He was predeceased by: his parents, Volney A Hansen and Mabelle Hansen (Eddy); his sister Beverley; and his parents-in-law, Soren and Bonna Christensen.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Hansen (Christensen); his children, Cathy (Rick Storey), Russ (Tammy Hansen), Christine (Matt Francis) and Mindy (Jim Nelson); his grandchildren, Anne Storey, Jane Kerr (Christian), Ryan Hansen (Elizabeth), Tyler Hansen (Jenna), Christopher Francis (Katie), Nicholas Francis (Jessica), Robert Francis, Greg Nelson (Railyn), Sarah Snyder (Joe) and Mike Nelson; and his pets, Sven and Anna.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Major Erickson Funeral Home & Crematory (111 N Pennsylvania Ave, Mason City, IA 50401). A memorial service was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church (213 N Pennsylvania Ave, Mason City, IA 50401). A burial was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 at the Memorial Park Cemetery (11495 265th St, Mason City, IA 50401).
In lieu of flowers Zip's family prefers memorials to be directed to the American Lung Association.
