She was predeceased by: her parents, Jospeh C. Dehr and Fern Dehr (Hoskins); her husband John James; and her sisters, Dora Kohl (Harrison) and JoAnne Nisbett (William).

She is survived by: her children, Jacquelyn James Simon, Richard James (Mary) of Galesburg, IL and Dori James (Steve Musson); her grandchildren, Jeffrey Simon (Wendy), Jennifer Todd, Jonathon James, Joshua James (Erica), Patrick James (Stephanie) and Zachary James (Joni); and her great grandchildren, Sam, Benjamin, Owen, Annabelle, Jaydon and Jace. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorials may be directed to Clear Lake United Methodist Church, Clear Lake, Humane Society or Habitat for Humanity in Virginia's memory.
