Steve Patrick Rye Obituary
We are sad to announce that on March 24, 2025, at the age of 72, Steve Patrick Rye (Mason City, Iowa) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Rye and Claudia Rye (Mills); his parents-in-law, Raymond and Ruth Pederson; his grandson Logan Ray Lester; his sister-in-law Jackie Rye; his aunts and uncles, Mary Rigdon, Pat Hofler, Don Mills and Jim Mills; and his nephews, Danny Eatman and Mike Reindl.
He is survived by: his wife Vicky; his daughters, Sara Cook (Jacob) and Rachel Torkelson (Ryan); his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Schriever (Colby), Adriana Rye, Eric Pals, Weston Thomas, Tyler Torkelson, Treyton Torkelson (Jenna) and Trevor Torkelson (Tavros); his great grandchildren, Tybo Schriever, Zariea Torkelson, Zayla Torkelson and Atticus Torkelson; his siblings, Sue Hayes (Dan), Bob Rye (Linda), Bill Rye (Cherie), Chris Rye (Julie), Julie Meindl (Martin) and Jennifer Ramaeker; and his brother-in-law Gary Pederson (Cindy). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel (126 3rd St NE, Mason City, IA 50401). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church (213 N Pennsylvania Ave, Mason City, IA 50401).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorials be dedicated to the Humane Society of North Iowa.
