We bid farewell to Rita Mae Wong of Mason City, Iowa, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 25, 2025 at the age of 93. Rita Mae touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis A. Ring and Mabel Ring (McDonald); her husband Larry Wong; and her siblings, Louis (Carol), Donald (Shirley), Kenneth (Gloria), Robert (Virginia), Richard Ring, Mabel Duccini (Edward), Frances Bolander (LeRoy) and Elizabeth McGinnis (Lawrence).
She is survived by: her children, Tina O'Connell (Dan) of Ames, Joy Melcher (Gayle) of Osage, Ellen Wong (Jeff Lucey) of Rochester, Anna Reindl (Steve) of Manly, Larry Wong (Molly) of Ames and Laura Tatro (Kevin) of Carlisle, IA; and her grandchildren, Sara Parsons (Matt), Kelly O'Connell, Nate Melcher (Kelli), Emily Anderson (Peter), Jordan Melcher (Emily), Jodie Nieman, Jason Nieman, Brent Reindl (Reyna), Andy Reindl, Forest Wong, Harmony Wong and Jazlyn Tatro. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel (126 3rd St NE, Mason City, IA 50401). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the same location.
