It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard L. Fairbanks of Mason City, Iowa, born in Monticello, Iowa, who passed away on March 16, 2021, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Fairbanks and Florence Fairbanks (Hubbard); his wife Beulah Nuehring Eichmann; his daughter Karen Eichmann Plagge; his brother Lloyd Fairbanks (Nancy); his grandson Marc Grandy; and his brother-in-law Karl Groh.
He is survived by: his children, Patricia Grandy (Glenn), Julie Carpenter (Bob) and Brad Fairbanks (Pat); his grandchildren, Brenda Smith (Earl), Tony Plagge (Deb), Shari Knowlton, Amber Paugh, Trevor Grandy, Regina Grandy, Jennifer Keifer, Eric Keifer (Katie), Jared Fairbanks (Jennifer), Ben Ebeling (Mackenzee), Sara Peterson (Kyle) and Addie Albrecht (Will); his great grandchildren, Ryan Smith, Ashley Plagge, Alec Knowlton (Courtney), RaeAnn Knowlton, Cooper Paugh, Cora Keifer, Harrison Fairbanks, Norah Fairbanks, Averie Ebeling, Henry Ebeling, Brynn Peterson, Leo Peterson and Saylor Albrecht; his great great grandchildren, Elijah Barnhardt and Zannah Plagge; and his sister Doris Groh.
