He was predeceased by: his parents, Ferdinand Preuss and Ella Preuss; and his brother Harold (Doris). He is survived by: his wife Doris Travis. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to: St. James Lutheran Church in Mason City, Trinity Lutheran Church in Watervillle, MN and Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City.
