He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Vega and Maria Vega (Perez); his son Christopher Vega; his siblings, Rufina Sanchez (Dorates), Sister Lucy Vega, Mary Sanchez (Merno), Louis Vega, Daniel Vega (Lillian), Jesus "Chuck" Vega (Gladys), Raymond Vega (Liz), Tubby Chavez, Phillip "Lepe" Vega and Ronald "Rulie" Vega; his cousin Tina Rositter; and his aunt Tia Carmen Perez.
He is survived by: his grandsons, Christopher Vega II and Alex Vega; his great grandchildren, Hope and Ian; his nieces, Delores "Nona" Nelson (Larry Ewen) and Mary Hippen; his nephew Alex Sanchez (Diane); and his sister-in-law Gena Vega.
