He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Alverson and Mabel Alverson (Jackson); and his son-in-law Robert Wolvers. He is survived by: his wife Mary Helen; his sons, Hugh Alverson (Sue) of Austin and John Alverson (Beth) of Mason City; and his stepdaughter Mary Sue Wolvers of Hampton.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Major Erickson Funeral Home (111 N Pennsylvania Ave, Mason City, IA 50401). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at the Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery (1224 S Washington Ave, Mason City, IA 50401).
