He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Smith and Lola Smith (Leibrand); his wife Geri Smith; and his brothers-in-law, Clifford Lee and Gerhard Skartland Jr..
He is survived by: his former wife Gwen Jutting; his son Dan (Michael Tully-Smith); his pet Molly; his children, Tom Smith (Jeralyn) and Deb Nadarevic (Asif); the mother of his children Gwen Smith; his daughter Cynthia Brown (David); his stepchildren, Ken Heimdal (Pam), Todd Heimdal (Kari), JoAnn Maulsby (Tom) and Julie Meier (Greg); and his sister-in-law Shirley Skartland.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel (126 3rd St NE, Mason City, IA 50401). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel (126 3rd St NE, Mason City, IA 50401).
