He was predeceased by: his siblings, Ralph and Betty Pedelty; his siblings-in-law, Elwin Pedelty, Gene Johnson, Bob Johnson, Virgil Johnson, Arlene Cunningham, Betty Johnson and Darlene Butler; and his great grandchild Beckett Petersen.
He is survived by: his wife Corrine Marie Johnson; his children, Alan Butler (Dianne) of Clear Lake, Arlyn Butler (Julie) of Mason City and Diane Thenhaus (Chris) of Clear Lake; and his grandchildren, Brad Butler, Jennifer Arends, Daniel Butler, Trent Thenhaus, Taylor Thenhaus, Travis Butler, Traci Rosenbaum, Kirsten Zimmerman, Brian Truex, Amanda Smith and Nick Truex. He is also survived by 24 great grandchildren.
