He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred C. Schmidt and Emma B. Schmidt; and his spouse Beverly J. Bidwell of Mason City. He is survived by: his children, Christine Slattery (Martin), Debora Thomas (Kirt) and Steven E. Schmidt. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
