He was predeceased by: his father Carroll Hurd; his wife Karen L. Frank; his mother Dorothy Hurd-Johnston (Englet); his stepfather Rex Johnston; and his siblings, Carolyn Chapman, Sandra Ford and C. W. "Cory" Hurd.
He is survived by: his children, Shannon Hurd of Mason City and Travis Hurd (Jessica) of Mason City; his grandchildren, Nolan (Madelyn Hurd) and Karens; his brother-in-law Jack Ford; his friend Nancy Sliger; and also, Tom Frank (Robee), Kathy Keeling (Greg) and Kristie Stadtlander (Mike). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
