He is survived by: his former wife Geraldine Prather; his wife Joyce Fountas of Mason City; his children, George Fountas (Cindy), Laurie Lichman (Tim) of Mason City, Staci West (Greysen), Brad Whalen (Jen) of Arizona and Trent Whalen of Waterloo; his grandchildren, Sara Deja (Tom) of Oregon, Jared Lichman of Iowa City, Mia Whalen, Brandon Adair, Ashleigh Adair of Arizona, Garrett West (Ashley) of Clear Lake, Jason VanHeel (Jessica) of Mason City, Susan Carroll (Ryan) of Minnesota and Matt VanHeel (Vicki) of Mason City; his siblings, Stella Rodemeyer of Texas, Florence Larson of Clear Lake and Thomas Fountas (Bev) of Wisconsin; and his siblings-in-law, Jim Hennigar of Fort Madison, Jim Kelley (Joetta) of Evansdale, Jerry Kelley (Connie) of Nora Springs, Jeff Kelley (Lisa) of Rockford, Darlene Fountas of North Liberty, Janice Turnbull of Mason City, Bernadine Rodemeyer (Ken) of Mason City and Rosemary Dick (Gaylen) of Milford. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
