He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Kahler and Lillian Kahler (Jensen); his brother Robert; and his brother-in-law Jim Tresemer. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Kahler; and his cousin Bill Cash. He is also survived by three children; seven grandchildren; 1 great grandchild.

Memorials may be directed to the family of Jerry Kahler.
