He was predeceased by: his parents, Erin Ryan and Joe Lewis; his brother David Joseph; and his parents-in-law, Herman J. Meyer and Mary Gertrude Meyer (Burds).
He is survived by: his wife Mary Rita Meyer of Dubuque; his sister Mary; his brother-in-law Wayne Zumhof; his siblings, Jody Wilson, Marge Decklever (Larry) and Mike Hubbard (Sue); his children, Kelly Johnson (Joe), Carol Ahmed (Mahfuz), Connie Ruiz (Rick) and Craig Hubbard (Jennifer); and his grandchildren, Heather, Melissa, Lauri, Joe, Nicole, Claire, Ricky, Tom, Abby, Ally and Andrew. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
