We are sad to announce that on April 19, 2025 we had to say goodbye to Glen Herbert Zirbel of Mason City, Iowa. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Emil and Ruth Margaret Zirbel (Holt); his wife Dolores Wood-Bamman; his daughter Julie; his sons-in-law, Bob and Jerry; and his brothers, Keith, Donald and Fred.
He is survived by: his former wife Frieda Leemhuis (Lola); his children, Kathryn Olthoff (Roger), Mike Carpenter, Barbara Gauley (Dennis), Cindy Braniger, Melinda Gray and Melissa Neubauer; his grandchildren, Travis, Lisa, Jill, Matthew, Chrissy, Eric, Ashley, Cory, Kailey, Lindsey, Janel, Lacey, Laura and Noah; and his siblings, Margaret, Rachel, Paul, David, Mark and Doreen. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 1st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Ankeny Funeral Home (1510 W 1st St, Ankeny, IA 50023). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 1st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family and will be given to a charity of their choosing at a later date in loving memory of Glen. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be left at http://www.ankenyfuneralhome.com. for the Zirbel family.
