He was predeceased by: his brothers, Kenton Ewing and Billy Figgins. He is survived by: his children, Sky Ewing (Taryn Horn), Kayde Sberal (Jared) and Brittany Davis (Will); his grandchildren, Hadley Jo, Colten and Beau; his siblings, Martha "Molly" Walgren, Annette Marshall, Kathy Wentworth (Craig), Kim Pinneke (West Lane) and Micky Pinneke; his former wife Jan Kostka; and his great-aunt Matilda (Ryan). He is also survived by his nieces and nephews; and his many friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mason City Community Theater or Stebens Children's Theater, continuing Gary's legacy of supporting the arts and nurturing emerging talent, or to the Humane Society of North Iowa to help support area animals in need.
