He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Hillman and Vyvienne Hillman (Destival); his wife Nancy J. Dawson; and his siblings, EmmaLou Schoentag, LaVelle Riechers and LaVerle Hillman.

He is survived by: his daughters, Lori Hubbard (Steve) and Leshia Cummins (Troy); his sisters, Joyce Stille and Becky Bayness; his grandchildren, Lindsey Kuefler (Aaron), Ashlyn Beyer (Larry), Eryn Stuart (Zach), Nicholas Cummins, Samuel Cummins, Whitney Cummins, Corbin Kuefler, Elijah Kuefler and Loralynn Beyer; and his sister-in-law Deanna Dawson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
