She was predeceased by: her husband Donald McCready; her daughter Cynthia Richards; her parents, Eugen van Schellenbeck and Annemarie Rall; her parents-in-law, Blair and Anna McCready; her stepparents, Max Rall and Charlotte van Schellenbeck; and her pets, Lovey, Max and Benny.

She is survived by: her daughters, Carolyn Ryan, Chris McCready and Cathleen Harris (Patrick); her son-in-law Don Richards (Marg); her grandchildren, Kyle Richards, Erin Taylor (Brent), Jenna Snow, Richard Ryan (Abby), Alexander Ryan, Ryan McCready (Sarah Fatino), Sean and Liam Harris; her great grandchildren, Cahlen Richards, Ava, Elise Snow, Cash, Collins Ryan and Vada McCready; her brothers, Helmuth, Horst and Kurt van Schellenbeck; and her pet Taffy. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 3rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the First Congregational United Church of Christ (100 1st St NE, Mason City, IA 50401). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
