He was predeceased by: his parents, Leland R. DeWitt and Gloria DeWitt (Tapager); his son Bernard "Bernie" DeWitt; his parents-in-law, Lloyd Bernard McMurray and Jean McMurray; his sister LaDonna Catalano; and his stepsister Patty Seimens.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia; his son Leland DeWitt (Joey); his granddaughters, Lindsey Schnebly (Jared), Jessica Gross (Shaun), Alexandra Seibert (Michael) and Samantha Humburg (Kelly); his great grandchildren, Aubrey Schnebly, Paislee Humburg, Jaxsyn Gross, Penelope Seibert, Davina Humburg and Riley Gross; his stepmother-in-law Carol McMurray; his siblings, Charles DeWitt, Thomas DeWitt and Steven DeWitt (Patty); his stepbrother Ricky Eavers; and his siblings-in-law, John McMurray (Cathy), Charles McMurray (Beverly) and Judy Olinger. He is also survived by several other extended family members and numerous friends.
