It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of David R. DeWitt of Mason City, Iowa, who passed away on August 23, 2020, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leland R. DeWitt and Gloria DeWitt (Tapager); his son Bernard "Bernie" DeWitt; his parents-in-law, Lloyd Bernard McMurray and Jean McMurray; his sister LaDonna Catalano; and his stepsister Patty Seimens.

He is survived by: his wife Virginia; his son Leland DeWitt (Joey); his granddaughters, Lindsey Schnebly (Jared), Jessica Gross (Shaun), Alexandra Seibert (Michael) and Samantha Humburg (Kelly); his great grandchildren, Aubrey Schnebly, Paislee Humburg, Jaxsyn Gross, Penelope Seibert, Davina Humburg and Riley Gross; his stepmother-in-law Carol McMurray; his siblings, Charles DeWitt, Thomas DeWitt and Steven DeWitt (Patty); his stepbrother Ricky Eavers; and his siblings-in-law, John McMurray (Cathy), Charles McMurray (Beverly) and Judy Olinger. He is also survived by several other extended family members and numerous friends.
