He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Arthur and Helen Holbrook Dunn; his grandparents, Claude and Mable Holbrook; his granddaughter Megan Dunn Blunt; and his stepfather Howard G Nelson.
He is survived by: his wife Marion Elaine Faulk; and his children, Linda Shaw, Jim of Elkader, IA, David R Dunn, Geri, Mike Dunn, Shari, Kathy Kenney, Doug, Wendy Thompson and Kyle. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 8 great, great grandchildren.

David (Old Dave, Davey) Earle Dunn was born December 27, 1931, at Story Hospital in Mason City, Iowa to Charles Arthur and Helen Holbrook Dunn.
